Sprint on Wednesday!

The first sprint since the festival will be this Wednesday, read on:

Join us on Wednesday, August 26th, for an evening of sprint orienteering starting on the east end of the University of Alaska Anchorage campus! The fast-paced urban course will put your quick navigation skills to the test.

Parking is at the Art Building Parking Lot east of the UAA Fine Arts Building. Start times will be from 5pm to 7pm and you must be finished by 8:30pm. Additionally, the long course requires a .25 mile walk or jog to a remote start, so budget in a little extra time to get there.

Long Course 4.4km, 23 Controls

Short Course 2.5km, 14 Controls

White Course 1.5km, 10 Controls

Just a reminder that sprints take over for a few weeks in late August and early September. Bear activity is often heightened in some of our key locations so the more urban/park maps make more sense than sending orienteers into thick brush. The evenings are getting shorter making it more difficult to pull controls before civil twilight and sprints are easier to take down quickly. Plus, some of us love a good sprint!
