Maps & Software

The club has converted to using Open Orienteering Mapper (OOM) for the creation and editing of all club maps. The software is free, but cannot be used for setting courses. The club recommends using Purple Pen, another free program, for course setting, in conjunction with the OOM maps.

Please direct any questions you may have about OOM and the club’s base maps to the Vice President for Mapping.

Previous Meet Maps
Reviewing previous meet maps is a good way to get ideas for you course and to make sure you’re meet is not too similar to recent meets at the same location. After your meet is complete, please provide your maps as PDF or OCAD files to the VP of Mapping so they can be archived.
