Sorry for the delay in getting the write up out everyone! Thank you to everyone who came out to the Back to School-O! There were about 63 attendees with 5 individuals and 12 teams competing in the Elementary School class and 19 individuals and 4 teams competing in the High School class. We’re still learning how to Score-O with the punch system, and one lesson learned is that the punch sticks cap at 30 punches in an event! Whoops, sorry for the confusion! We also had some issues with the auto-scoring of the event, but since the top competitors in each category were able to get to all the controls within the allotted time, it feels safe to report the winners:
Elementary School was won by Oscar Araujo, followed by Sofia Aguilar, then Jacob Matheson. High School was won by Scott Patterson followed by Allan Spangler, then Springer Moore.
No back to school even would be complete without an ice cream social – thanks to everyone for making swift work of all the ice cream before it melted!
Last, but certainly not least, thank you to everyone who helped to gather controls after the event, to Rachael Hannah for being an excellent co-meet director, and to the First American Baptist Church for the generous use of their parking lot for the event start and finish!
