Welcome to the 2025 Alaska Orienteering Festival!

Orienteering style map with hillshade bavkground, showing the 4 venue locations. As we kick off the start of the Alaska Orienteering Festival, we are excited to welcome to the over two dozen people from outside Alaska that are coming up to participate!  The festival comprises four orienteering events over eight days:

  • Wed June 25 – Loop-O at Earthquake Park
  • Sat June 28 – Traditional at Willow Creek (Nationally Ranked Event)
  • Sun June 29 – Mountain-O at Craggie Creek (Hatcher Pass)
  • Wed July 2 – Traditional at Mirror Lake

Here are a few highlights, although please check the festival website for full details.

  • If you have not done so yet, please go to the festival website to pre-register especially if you are attending one of the weekend events, it really helps us know how many maps to print.
  • We have set up a print-on-demand online store with festival t-shirts and few other items. Shipping costs to Alaska are a little high so you might want to combine orders with friends to save money.
  • On Saturday evening after the Willow Creek event there will be informal group camping somewhere on the Willow Creek Road on the way to Sunday’s Craggie Creek Venue.  We will bring a grill and the club will provide hot dogs and hamburgers. If you plan on camping, consider bringing a side dish to share or other items to grill. You are welcome to join us for part of the evening even if you do not plan on camping. More details (like the exact location) will be available at the Willow Creek event.
  • For the other events, we plan to recommend a local brewery or restaurant where folks can gather afterwards.
  • It takes a lot of volunteers to plan and put on a festival.  If you can help out with some of the events, please let us know.
