Bike-O on Wednesday

On Wednesday we will have a Bike-O in Kincaid, with starts beginning at the Jodphur trailhead. The event will be a bit different this year as we will be using a more official bike orienteering map. Below is a link to information about the Kincaid Bike-O map. Please read it before you come.

There will be three courses: A Looong, and Shorter and a Family Ride-O. The distance of the Long and Short may be a bit deceiving because there are a number of track and path choices that will require fairly circuitous routes. Sometimes you’ll need to choose between a single-track and a ski trail. Since it’s Kincaid, you’ll also need to be aware of big hills and depressions as you make your choices. And the trails are pretty wet. Watch out for puddles, muddy areas, and even a few pop-up ponds.

A final and important note: On these courses you may not take short cut trails unless they are mapped. And there are parts of the Long and Short with specific prohibitions against cutting from one trail to another! Pay attention and obey the meet director and the direction of single-tracks, which are noted on the map.

FINISH by 8 p.m. – it’s getting dark and we’re pulling controls beginning at 8 p.m.

Loooong course: 10.2 km 22 controls (Starts 5-6 p.m. only. After that, it’s the shorter course for you)

Shorter course: 6.8 km 13 controls

Family Ride-O: 2.7 km 7 controls
