Traditional @Abbott Loop, Wed June 17th

Location: Traditional meet at Abbott Loop Community Park

Date: Wednesday, June 17th

Time: Starts from 5-7 pm. Please finish by 9 pm at at the latest.

Join us for the last traditional orienteering meet of the season on Wednesday, 17 June 2026, at Abbott Loop Community Park, 8101 Elmore Rd. The start and finish will be at the picnic shelter. This area has some nice opportunities for forest navigation and mosquito dodging. A head net might help you relax out on the courses, especially if you are not planning to be running the whole time.

A small portion of the course looks like this:

  • Remember that the airstrip is closed to the public, but this should not be a problem since no controls entice you to cross it.
  • Please be aware of wildlife and other trail users. Bear spray recommended.
  • Bring your punch stick, compass, and whistle.

Course lengths:

  • White – 7 controls, 1.8 km
  • Yellow –  11 controls, 2.6 km
  • Orange – 11 controls, 4.7 km
  • Green – 13 controls, 5.5 km
  • Red – 18 controls, 6.9 km

After the meet, join us for an informal celebration of the end of the regular season at Cynosure. Look for folks after 6:30 p.m., we will stay until closing at 8 p.m.
