Eager to get out after all this rain? Come on out this Saturday and enjoy orienteering at the Settler’s Bay Coastal Park in the Mat-Su Valley. This lovely new park features stunning views across Knik Arm and the Palmer Hay Flats, with wooded areas, wetlands, and two anadromous streams! This map was developed by the club in 2020. If you have not had a chance to visit this venue, it is well worth the drive.
We will have two fast and fun courses: Short (2.9km, 8 controls) and Long (3.9km, 11 controls). Starts between 10am – 2pm, please plan to be finished by 3pm. The meet director is Mike Robinson.
This is the last sprint meet before the season championships at EarthQuake Park. Check out where you are in the sprint standings.
Driving directions: from the Parks Highway, drive 8 miles down Knik Goose Bay Road to Settlers Bay Road (there’s a Tesoro at the corner). Turn left and go down the hill. At the first intersection, turn left onto Settlers Bay Drive and follow the road around to the east and south to the end.
