On a lovely fall day at Kincaid, 26 mountain bikers and one runner toured the park looking for controls and wildlife; they were not disappointed on either count. Several encountered a black bear large enough to place high up in a fat bear contest, multiple moose were spotted, and one person was charged by both species (fortunately, no contact was made). On the other sporting front, Ian Moore topped the field on the long/hard course, followed by Allan Spangler. Team Julia Ditto and John Webb finished first on the mid-length course; Jen Jolliff took second place. Teammates Eli Suver, Sam Stratton, and Will Dunker aced the shortest course (they also placed third in the mid-length course), followed by Aly “Awesome” Long, and nine seconds later, the other two Longs (Laura and Jackson).
