Tree to Tree O Results – Bedeviled!

More than 60 souls, ranging in age from less than 6 weeks to over 70 years, found their way to the Jodphur trailhead on Wednesday evening to participate in the third meet of the Sprint Series.  While nearly all the controls were on dry trails, many near “distinctive, deciduous trees” (a new clue code experience!), many racers decided to detour from the dirt into the thick undergrowth, only to be bedeviled by Devil’s Club, thus doubting their decision.  But even the trails were not without hazard as a cow and calf moose slowed the passage of some, and other speedsters (after the fact) discovered, in their haste that they had punched at the wrong light pole. (In the words of the VP of Training, “Check the number on the control!”)

Thanks to Chris Zafren for help setting controls, to Bill Spencer and Alex Knapp for help retrieving controls, to Peter Johnson for help with set up, to Stan Moll for help with set up, treat supply and assistance through out the meet, and to Dorn Van Dommelen for help with LiveLox setup and tabulating the results.

And remember, there’s still time to qualify for the final Sprint Championship on the 24th.  Rumor has it that next week’s sprint may be a double. A Sprint Series update is coming soon!
