Orienteering on Wednesday at Prospect Heights!
This week’s meet will be near the Prospect Heights trailhead in Chugach State Park.
We say “near” because the Prospect Heights parking lot is closed for paving. Orienteers will need to park along Sidorof, Slalom, or Prospect Drive. Please carpool if possible, and limit parking to one side of the road (east, north, outside of bend).
The registration/start/finish area will be on the powerline trail. From the road, you will follow the signs and walk a flagged trail 1/4 mile to the start/finish area at the powerline. Do not walk on the access road or parking lot.
This area is in good shape right now. The views are great, the vegetation is low, and the bugs are minimal (as of yesterday ). Courses are on the short side distance-wise, with lots of controls.
