Time: 5:00 – 7:00 pm starts; must be done by 9:00pm
Location: North Bivouac Trailhead Mile 2.2 Campbell Airstrip Road
Traditional Meet with White (beginner) to Red (advanced) courses. Start any time between 5pm and 7pm. You must be done by 9pm.
The Mile 2.2 orienteering area is greening up and gorgeous. The grass is only calf high on the course setter, and the cow parsnip and devils club are still awakening from their winter slumber. On Saturday, June 3, the course setter saw no wildlife, encountered only two mosquitoes, and kept his feet dry (a bit of fancy footwork was needed in one short red/green stretch).
The red and green courses are designed so that most running will be off-trail, but due to the proliferation of trails, they are on the easy side of the spectrum and there are no long legs.
Course statistics:
- White – 2.4 km / 9 controls
- Yellow – 2.8 km / 10 controls
- Orange – 3.4 km / 11 controls
- Green – 5.2 km / 16 controls
- Red – 6.1 km / 19 controls
