Time: 5:00 – 7:00 pm starts; must be done by 9:00pm
Location: Mile 1.1 Campbell Airstrip Rd. Anchorage AK
Come on out to Far North Bicentennial Park this Wednesday for the second meet of the season! The snow has melted throughout FNBP and the trees and brush are just starting to bud out. Get out in the park before the visibility decreases and brush becomes overwhelming.
The club will be offering a 20-minute beginner training at this Wednesday’s meet. If you are interested, gather at the start at 5:30pm.
The courses are on the moderate to long side, but take advantage of the extensive trail network around FNBP to move quickly. Courses are set for all ages and abilities but be prepared for some wet feet as patches of the park are still drying and had snow only a week ago.
- Parking is at the Campbell Airstrip Trailhead at mile 1.1 of Campbell Airstrip road. Pull into the parking lot and go to the start of the trails to find the orienteering tent. Please be mindful of parking as this is a popular trailhead with limited parking.
- Start any time from 5-7pm and be finished by 9pm.
- Bear spray, long shirt, and long pants are recommended. Come prepared for wet feet.
