Results for Mountain-O

About 50 people came out to enjoy a beautiful, late summer day at Glen Alps for the Mountain Orienteering event on August 21st. Beautiful sunny and warm conditions made for an enjoyable day of orienteering with map and compass for all the participants. Ian Moore won the men’s long (Mountain Goat) coarse in 101 minutes and 50 seconds. Jen Moore won the women’s long course in 139 minutes and 29 seconds. Steve Gruhn won the men’s intermediate (Billy Goat) coarse in 96 minutes and 10 seconds. And Nico Shearer blitzed the White course in 42 minutes 3 seconds just edging out Rachael Hannah who finished in 42 minutes and 45 seconds.

Thanks to Brian Kirchner and Trond Jensen for putting on a great mountain orienteering event and to the Chugach State Park for allowing the Arctic Orienteering Club to access the Chugach State Park from Glen Alps.
