Thanks to the many orienteers who participated in the first two sprints. Because the High School-O saw a change in format, we’ll only have three qualifying events this summer. The next sprint will be on August 18th, perhaps at UAA, but maybe at a different venue. The pursuit final is still scheduled for Earthquake Park on September 1s August 25th.
Because we will have had one less sprint in the lead up, you can now qualify for the final with one event. But, participants with three starts will be eligible to have their worst performance dropped, based on their standings. I’ve done some quick calculations to determine the current standings. Presuming a 6 p.m. start (this may change!), this is what the pursuit would look like today. All age and sex categories are mixed so that we can also crown and overall champion and a few fun rivalries can play out in the field. Please forgive and correct me if I’ve missed anyone:
