If you love hills, cliffs and roots, this is the one for you! It was challenging (for us over 60’s) and fun. Good length, too. Had to use my Kincaid Trail skills. Thanks.
Definitely lots of hills. I sure enjoyed the view when I crossed over from Lekish to the cliff trail. I didn’t see any moose or bears although I saw plenty of scat for both. I did some wandering between #3 and #4 on the short course. I always find those trails daunting. Thanks for the great opportunity to get out and enjoy Kincaid in the autumn sun.
I walked the short course on Saturday, 9/12. Only issue was with $10. I found 2 trees with yellow & blue flagging, in different spots, but neither had #s (might have been ripped off) and both appeared to not be in the correct spot. I searched the larger area for quite a while and couldn’t find any other flagging. There was a high school cross country race on Saturday; maybe they used similar flagging or ours got moved? Or I completely missed it.
I really DNF’d on the short course. Found the #10 control while I was out doing the long course (#19 on the long) today, Monday. Can anyone fix that for me in the time box? I don’t think I can edit at this point.
And if you find a problem with the course, please phone or text me at 907.three five one. five zero zero four.
