Jodphur Ski-O Results

About 50 orienteers came out to the first event of 2026, and the first of three Ski-Os. The weather was a bit breezy but nice and the trails a bit icy, but navigable. Scott Patterson won the Long Course for the men and Julia Ditto for the women. Team Awesome brought home the prize for the team class. On the short course, Team Logan and Sam won the day with Jamie Shearer eking out a win in the women’s class. Dwight Iverson won the men’s division. (Trond Flagstad isn’t lost and still wandering the trails, he lost his finger stick in the snow and manually punched the remaining controls. His time was likely under an hour. Nice work Trond, we all feel your pain.)

Dorn and Tamra, the co-directors, have a lot of thanking to do. Bill Spencer vetted the courses, helped with stomping the trails on Saturday and pulled controls today. Thanks so much Bill! Brittany Hippe and Shelly Laws placed the multi-directional signage and helped pull controls. Ian Moore, Scott Patterson, Jen Jolliff, Carolyn Stwerka and a few others also helped to pull controls. Frank Witmer came to the event early and helped with set up as we rushed around trying to place controls. Anne Billman, as always, handled permitting for the club.

There are some fun differences in route choice below, especially on the Long course on the smaller trails around the Horseshoe Loop (note to future course setters). Check it out and post your watch’s GPS track, the more the merrier. By posting you can be eligible for the “Control #3 was BS” event at the end of the year!
