Meet us at Ruth Arcand (at the pavilion near the playground) for focused training to improve your orienteering skills! Training runs 5pm – 8:30pm. Last maps will be handled out at 7:30. Control pickup at 8:30pm
For this training there will be multiple short legs of 3 to 4 controls focusing on a specific navigation technique that can be done with or without an instructor. Small groups will be paired up with an instructor to go out on the trails to learn & practice navigation techniques.
For first timers or, if you want a refresher, there will be a 45-minute intro to orienteering at 5:15 and 6:15.
It’s helpful for instructors if you can bring a map or recount a leg or two on a prior race where you made a mistake so they can help fill in the gaps.
The cost will be $15 per person or your season membership covers the fee. You can prepay online and there is no need to rent a stick. As with all meets, this fee covers map printing and area permit fees. No charge if you are an instructor.
