Remember that time it took you forever to find a control? Was it you or was it a mistake by the meet director? That control was total BS and pretty much ruined your night of orienteering. But have no fear, we can still turn your misery into a bit of orienteering fun.
On Thursday, November 7th, from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Cynosure Brewing, come and celebrate your worst orienteering nightmare and help us to crown a new kind of champion: The orienteer who screwed up the most last season!
Here’s what’s going to happen: Anyone in the club can come to the brewery at 6. We’ll meet in the back where we’ll have a screen, projector, and laptop set up so that we can look at and mock each other’s crazy route choices or courses. (Note: Those routes are going to have to be posted to LiveLox!)
You’ll have to be self-deprecating enough to nominate yourself if you want to enter the competition. Choose one or two really ridiculous route “choices” you made or, if you were a meet director and misplaced a control or just made orienteering miserable for others, one of your courses. We’ll watch each entrant’s mistakes and they’ll have the chance to narrate in whatever way they want. Then, we’ll vote for the best, worst, most absurd orienteering of the year.
