Hello orienteers,
This summer it seems our meet directors are especially busy with travel and other commitments and we have had a hard time filling in all the holes in the schedule. But thanks to Jen’s persistent efforts as VP of Events, some flexibility among our usual meet directors, plus some new volunteers, we have a pretty good schedule now! But we were not able to get a meet prepared for May 17th.
Instead we are planning a training event at FNBP Mile 1.1 from 5:30pm-7:30pm. The 2-hour training is for all levels of orienteers that want to learn techniques to navigate more effectively though a course in hopes of moving up a level or shaving a few minutes off their time. Depending on the number instructors, the hope is to have no more than 4 students per instructor. The training will be in the field with instruction explaining techniques to get to the next control.
This event is free, but you must have filled out a waiver for the season.
If you plan to attend this training, you must RSVP by completing this brief form by midnight Tuesday. This will give us an idea of what training to coordinate and how many maps to print.
