Get Your iSportsman Pass for tomorrow’s Traditional Meet at Pia (if age 16 and older). This location provides access to Far North Bicentennial Park and the tank trails (JBER training lands) on the east side of Anchorage and is a great area for orienteering. Because the courses travel across military land, there are some extra requirements to participate in this meet.
It will be easier and less time consuming if you complete these steps BEFORE the meet—it’s well worth it!
Additional details:
1. If you are 16 years of age or older on July 13, you will still need to have an active JBER iSportsman account and buy a 2022 JBER Recreational Permit ($10 for the remainder of the calendar year).
You will also need to sign in to Training Area 429 before you start the course on July 13 and sign out before you leave the venue on a smartphone, or as soon as you get home if you don’t have a smartphone. You must be signed out no later than 11pm that day.
To sign in, login and select “Sign into area/sign out.” Choose “Running, walking, hiking or bicycling” as your activity, and choose “Richardson” as your area to find TA 429.
2. JBER – AOC Hold Harmless Waiver is required for each participant. Please sign electronically / print, sign, and scan (or take a good photograph). Send to me at briankr@gmail.com or 907-227-1730. Paper copies will also be available at the venue, but completing in advance will save you time!
We will be checking for waiver completion and iSportsman sign-ins before handing you a map.
Access to the start area is from the end of Klutina Drive near where Tudor transitions into Muldoon. There is on-street parking only, so car-pool if you can.
