McHugh Creek
Over eighty participants came out to McHugh Creek in Chugach State Park to orienteer in an area that was both spectacular and challenging. Competitors enjoyed incredible views of Turnagain Arm, several wildlife sightings, as well as wild roses and Devil’s Club. This was the Arctic Orienteering Club’s first in-person meet on the McHugh Creek map created by Ian Moore and Jen Jolliff.
Ian Moore and Lindsey Flagstad were the winners on the most challenging Red course. On the most popular Orange course, Peter Johnson posted the fastest time, beating out eight teams. The team of Vebjorn Flagstad and Hatcher Smith came in second.
