Get Your iSportsman Pass for Next Week’s Traditional Meet at Pia

There will be a traditional meet next week at Pia.  This location provides access to Far North Bicentennial Park and the tank trails (JBER training lands) on the east side of Anchorage and is a great area for orienteering.  Because the courses travel across military land, there are some extra requirements to participate in this meet:

• Have a 2021 JBER iSportsman Permit, and login to the relevant iSportsman Training Areas (424, 429) on the day of the meet
• Sign and submit the JBER use waiver.

It will be easier and less time consuming if you complete these steps before the meet, but its well worth it!

iSportsman Permit

Register for an iSportsman Permit BEFORE the day of the meet and learn more about the system at https://jber.isportsman.net

All orienteerers age 16 years or older must have an iSportsman Recreation Permit ($10 for the calendar year) and be signed into training areas 424, 425, and 429 for the evening of the meet on June 30. This includes military members or retirees, DoD affiliated citizens, and the general public.

JBER waiver required

Hold Harmless Waiver is here. Please complete and sign electronically or print and send a scanned copy or good photograph to meet director Brian Kirchner at briankr@gmail.com.  You can also bring the completed waiver to the meet.

There is no visitor control checkpoint to access the start via the end of Klutina Drive, but the club will be checking for waiver completion and iSportsman sign-ins before handing you a map.
