Mirror Lake course maps are now available for download. This venue is fun and worth the drive!
Thanks, Lexi-another fun evening at Mirror Lake. The downpours happened on the way home, fortunately. Good course, nice and dry, low vegetation.
PS: we didn’t have any problems with bugs, either!
Fast & fun long course on Friday night, also no bugs!
Was a fun course. Nice to have all that open forest to navigate through. Dead reckoning with compass and pace makes for a good challenge. Was a bit buggy in am on Monday.
Had fun sharing one of my favorite maps with my budding orienteer friend on a gorgeous Friday evening. Bugs weren’t nearly as bad as at FNBP, but the new bug dope may have contributed to our being better able to focus on our maps.
The boulder at long #8 is mismapped, as we found it on top of the spur, not mid-way down it. And it would be good to get the light poles on the ski trails mapped before next year.
Yeah, I had a problem looking for that boulder, too. I was on top, facing down the hill and couldn’t see it. After about 15 seconds of looking, I turned around and it was 10 feet from me. I also agree about accurately locating the light poles on the ski trails.
