  1. Anyone lose a black Hestra glove on the northeast section of the long course? I meant to leave it at the trailhead, but accidentally took it with me.

  2. At 5 pm Friday, it was reported that S9 is missing. I will try to check M1 and S9 Friday evening unless I hear that someone else has either found or replaced them. Thanks for the feedback!

  3. Tried twice, but could not locate sta 12 on the advanced long course. Also couldn’t find sta 16 which I thought would be a no-brainer. Otherwise great course giving me lots of dead reckoning/pacing practice. Joe Kurtak

  4. Assume flagging no longer exists at S9.
It’s entirely possible that the spur we flagged for #12 on Adv Long course (#8 on Adv Shorter) is farther downslope (NW) than what is shown in the map.

  5. On advanced long course it seemed all flags were in correct place (unfortunately I often wasn’t) at all controls. Thanks!

BTW I thought I heard a goshawk screeching to the south of me between controls 7 & 8 (towards 11) giving me PTSD from an attack a few years ago. Be wary in that region.

  6. Mary’s and my plan to do the long course on Saturday was thwarted by the largest swarm of mosquitoes I’ve ever encountered anywhere, that followed us for the entire course. Apparently my essential oil bug repellant that’s a couple years old is now an attractant! Mary’s 30% DEET didn’t work either. It’s really hard to follow a bearing when you have to use both hands to swat the buggers constantly. So by the time we got to L7 we both decided to bag the long course and salvage the medium (plus one control – L6 – that wasn’t on advanced shorter). That’s the only reason for the lower Fun rating, but the course itself was excellent. Thanks Anne and Dan!
