Important Update:
The meet director can only sponsor 9 people, and all those spots have been claimed. You will not be able to get on base unless you have 1) Pre-registered per the instructions below, or 2) you are one of the 9 people being sponsored by the meet director (she will have told you who you are), 3) you have a military ID, or 4) you know of someone with a military ID that can sponsor you. Sorry for the confusion. We hope to see you on base, it should be a great event in a really fun venue!
Wednesday’s meet is on the Fossil Creek map, on JBER. Access is through the JBER Richardson gate (mile 7.5 Glenn highway). It’s a bit less than 15 minutes from there to the meet site. After going through the gate, take a right onto 6th St.at the first traffic light (by Buckner Field House). Take 6th to a ‘T’ with the Davis Highway; turn right. Follow the Davis Highway a couple of miles) and turn Left onto Pole Line Road (a dirt road, there will be a sign). Follow Pole line Road 2.5 miles to the start.
Starts will be from 5 (or a bit earlier) to 7; but everyone must be finished by 8:30. We won’t quit recording finishes, but we do need to start picking up controls then, because of the terms of our permit.
White is 1.8K; Yellow 2.8K; Orange 3.9K, Green 4.2K and red 5.9K
For those who signed up early for base access, you should have received an e-mail confirming that from the meet director. You should be able to give your name, and the event (Arctic Orienteering Fossil Creek meet) and every adult in the car will need to show a driver’s license (or other gov’t photo ID). If you did not get an email, then you’ll need to sign in at the visitor center. Lexi Hill will be there from 4:30 to 6:30 to sponsor people onto JBER, but only for those hours.
