Arctic Orienteering Club Sprint Series 2019

The club is putting on a series of sprint events this summer. Sprint
orienteering meets feature short and fun courses that emphasize fast map
reading and quick route choices, typically on more “urban” maps.

July 10th at APU
July 17th at Ruth Arcand
July 31st at Bartlett
August 21st at UAA

All four events will include a long course, a short course, and a white
course. Competitors will be organized into the following categories for
the purposes of time reporting.

Long course
Men/Women 18-29
Men/Women 30-39
Men/Women 40-49
Men/Women 50-59

Short course
Junior Boys/Girls under 17
Senior Men/Women 60+

All races are open to everyone, including teams, and you don’t need to
be a runner to participate. The final event in the series will feature
starts based on the times posted at the first two meets, perhaps as a
pursuit race. The overall winners in each age/sex category will be
declared the season sprint champions!
