Wednesday, June 27, 2018
Far North Bicentennial Park – Mile 2.2

75 people enjoyed an evening of orienteering Wednesday night at the North Bivouac trailhead. Ian Moore edged out Toby Schwörer to win the men’s division of the Red course in 59:48; Jen Joliff won the women’s in 1:35:35. In the Green course, Kimball Forrest topped the men in 54:30, and Anne Billman, the women in 1:52:54. A brutal Orange course saw 5 of the 14 entries not finish; Springer Moore had the fastest time in 1:26:05; Kalen, Diane and John Ramey were the fastest team. On the Yellow course, Kathy Faryniarz had the fastest time in 1:19:40; Andy Olnes topped the men in 2:33. Finally, three families took on the white course, all finishing in under an hour, with the Buttners the fastest in 46:40

Lexi and Lorena would like to thank Erik Carlson and Corrie Whitmore for help with scoping out the course, setting controls, bringing snacks and manning the registration table; Baird Carlson for toddler-testing the white course; Ian Moore and Jen Jolliff for advice on the white – green courses and Kimball Forrest for advice on the red course. And I’m sure all those who participated will join us in thanking Toby Schwörer for making map corrections in time for printing!
