Instruction (outdoors) from 5:30 to 6 pm: We’ll quickly cover the basics of orienteering, then discuss map reading and how to use an orienteering map.  Finally, we’ll get you out on a course to try orienteering for 30-60 minutes.
Bring: good walking shoes, long pants, other clothes to keep you warm or cool and dry during instruction and orienteering, small pack or pockets for your valuables, bug dope, a whistle
Optional gear: pepper spray, water, snacks, compass
