Russian Jack Orienteering Results

Wednesday, July 12, 2017
Russian Jack Park

Runners were time-limited in their choice of controls (checkpoints) to visit during the 35-minute ‘Score-O’ orienteering event. Brian Kirchner and Jeremy Johnson took the top two places for the men. Brittany Hippe scored highest among the women, closely followed by Dela Grey. Most racers strategically maximized their points by staying on the course overtime, despite subtraction of points from their scores for each minute they were late. The Seeber family team completed the standard-format point-to-point orienteering course fastest among the nine teams that chose the unlimited time event.

Thanks to volunteers Drew and Charese Gearhart-Dekreon for course layout and day-of-meet help; Steve Gruhn for registration help; Lexi Hill and Mike Robinson for pizza provision. Meet directors: Anne and Dan Billman.
